King Ahaz Worshipped Idol
W3 2010-09-15 (代下27:1-29:19)
經文: 歷代志下 28:23 他祭祀攻擊他的大馬色之神，說：因為亞蘭王的神幫助他們，我也獻祭與他，他好幫助我。」但那些神使他和以色列眾人敗亡了。
默想: 猶大王亞哈斯因為離棄耶和華，遭遇亞蘭王的攻擊與掠奪，亞哈斯不僅不知道悔改歸向耶和華，反而認同侵略者的神明，轉而去祭祀敬拜大馬色的神明，招惹耶和華更大的怒氣。求主幫助我，當我遭遇挫敗艱難時，知道及時悔改，歸向耶和華。
題目: 約坦行耶和華眼中看為正的事，卻生了一個惹耶和華生氣的兒子亞哈斯。亞哈斯一生得罪耶和華，卻生了一個討神喜悅的希西家王。你對此有何感想呢？
“The Lord is with you when you are with him, If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you”(2Ch 15:2).
回覆刪除God allows people to decide whether to follow Him at their free will. Jotham and Hezekiah did what the right in the eyes of the Lord, so they were blessed. Yet, Ahaz was deserted and denied by the Lord. Therefore, God is good to those whose hope is in Him. How one’s ancestors do to the Lord may make no difference in His grace and salvation.

二位好王的共同點，應該是都有「敬虔的母親」。當時的國王，這麼多妃嬪及孩子，主要的影響多半來自母親吧？！

回覆刪除It is not easy to understand why the godly father cannot have a godly son. Sometimes, we also found one pastor's son become a criminal. I think the problem may be from the problem relationship. If we have a close relationship with God, we should also have a close relationship with our children. If we have learnt a lot from God, our children should also can learn a lot from us.
However, it is also not easy to understand the opposite result: one bad father can have a godly son. Sometimes, we also can find one criminal's son become a pastor. I think the problem should be from the re-birth. If God can chose us (a sin man) to be His Son, we should agree to accept the re-birth possiblity for others.
