  3. “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Ps 46:10). This verse tells us that we should allow ourselves a period of quiet time. Quiet time, or devotion time, refers to our daily appointment with God, when we shut out as much outside interference as possible. During our quiet time, we may sing praise songs, pray, read Scripture or daily devotions, meditate on God's Word, or simply be still and listen.

If we fail to understand the importance of having a regular, committed quiet time with God, we are not likely to hear His voice…the one that whispers, "This is the way; walk in it" (Isa 30:21).

Jesus set the example for us concerning quiet time. He took time to connect with the Father regularly, as the following Scriptures tell us:

"Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray” (Mt 26:36).

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed (Mr 1:35).

Making that appointment is one thing; keeping it is another. May I learn to be prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for Him~

  5. Dear all, Peng An,
In Psalm 45, the description was the intimate interaction between the king and the queen. In Psalm 46, the scenario was the trusting relationship when in trouble or disaster. In Psalm 47, the situation was in public worship and praise.
Thus the presence of God could be experienced when we had intimate interaction with him during our devotion time, as well as when we trusted him during our difficult and challenging time, as well as when we praised him during our worshipping time.
