Amos the Shepherd Prophet
W5 2010-10-01 (摩1:1-2:16)
經文: 阿摩司書 2:4 耶和華如此說：猶大人三番四次的犯罪，我必不免去他們的刑罰；因為他們厭棄耶和華的訓誨，不遵守他的律例。他們列祖所隨從虛假的偶像使他們走迷了。
默想: 耶和華的選民與四圍的百姓一樣，三番四次的犯罪。以致於遭受耶和華的懲治。求神保守我，會謹記耶和華的訓誨，遵行耶和華的律例。不要隨從周遭文化的流行，而敬拜偶像，以致於得罪耶和華。
題目：先知阿摩司有關耶和華審判的預言，從大馬色開始講，到非利士、推羅、以東、亞捫、摩押，指出他們的罪惡，以及耶和華將要施行的公義審判，如果你是猶太人或是以色列人，唸到這些周遭的列國都將遭受上帝公義的審判時，會有什麼反應呢？
The Lord is compared to a lion, roaring from Zion and thundering from Jerusalem (Am 1:2). If I were among the audience when Amos is delivering the message that God will punish the sinner, I would reflect upon myself which crime I have ever committed and how I should face the Lord’s judgment.
回覆刪除I would certainly get tense and anxious if Amos were on behalf of the Lord envisioning His anger. But I think the Israelites weren’t aware of their imminent disaster when they listened to Amos’s words. This reminds us to stay vigilant of our everyday acts, so that we won’t be lost before we are conscience-stricken.

回覆刪除如果我是猶太人或以色列人？首先，看到敵人將遭報，不能說心裡不雀躍「神終於來救我們了」，但接下去看到神也一樣要追討我們的罪...那當然是要趕快悔改，求主憐憫。
