Moses Overlooked the Promised Land
W1 2010-09-27 (申4:1-4:49)
經文: 申命記 4:9 你只要謹慎，殷勤保守你的心靈，免得忘記你親眼所看見的事，又免得你一生、這事離開你的心；總要傳給你的子子孫孫。
默想：求主施恩保守我的心靈，對於這一生所經歷上帝的恩典與懲戒，能夠牢記於心中，永不遺忘。並且也會找機會，教導自己的後代，好讓他們，也會一生敬畏耶和華。
題目:摩西認為，耶和華是因為以色列人的緣故，向摩西發怒，不讓摩西進入迦南地，你對此有何看法呢？ (參閱民27:14)

回覆刪除「耶和華又因你們的緣故向我發怒，起誓必不容我過約旦河，也不容我進入耶和華─你神所賜你為業的那美地。」(4:21)
論忠心、論信心，以色列民中應該無人能及摩西，是不是神要以「摩西受罰」來做為以色列民的警惕呢？
“…for when the community rebelled at the waters in the Desert of Zin, both of you disobeyed my command to honor me as holy …”(Nu 27:14). Moses had no idea that he was to blame for his being forbidden to cross the Jordan and enter the good land.
回覆刪除We tend to owe our mistakes to others and can’t see our blind spots. Even as a capable and an anointed leader like Moses, he thought he was a victim under the rebellion of the Israelites. This reminds us not to accuse someone of his/her faults that we have ourselves.

回覆刪除Accountability is important for a leader. He cannot shirk his responsibility and shift the blame onto others. However, the pride of leader may cause him cannot recognize his fault. I think how to be humble and take responsibility is a necessary learning for a leader.
